Living in America, we are privileged to have the ability to choose from a myriad of products that line our grocery store shelves. Yet, there is a strange phenomenon one encounters frequently between items - the existence of total care products.

While shopping for the best mouthwash to suit my needs, I spotted the following options (all by the same brand, Listerine): Pre-Brush, Ultraclean, Anti-Cavity, Anti-Plaque, Anti-Septic, Whitening...and then Total Care. Why do all of these other options exist if there is such a thing as a Total Care mouthwash? Why wouldn't you just get the Total Care every time?? Does each other one just do a really good job in one particular area? But, then, will using just extra amounts of the Total Care compensate? It still would make sense to just get the total care then...
